MPs seek simplification to make sure UK can compete for international students
MPs are calling for the UK’s visa system to be simplified to “reduce the burden” of the immigration system on vital students, including those postgraduates who are essential to the country’s research system.
The Home Office holds “a key part to play” in making sure the UK’s student visa system can compete with rival English-speaking destinations such as the US and Australia, said Conservative peer Karan Bilimoria and Labour MP Paul Blomfield.
