Conservative conference: Three university leaders seek better support and one department to oversee HE

The government must tackle a flawed support system that is leaving higher education hamstrung by underfunding, manifestos released by vice-chancellors at a Conservative fringe event today urged.  

Higher education policy should be unified under one government department, and the cost of living crisis for students, as well as the lack of accommodation for them, should also be prioritised, suggest manifestos from three university leaders, published by the Higher Education Policy Institute think-tank.
