Former universities and science minister Chris Skidmore refuses to back government on King’s speech
Chris Skidmore will rebel against his own party and vote against the King’s speech, because it contains plans for new oil and gas drilling.
Skidmore—who has twice served as minister with responsibility for higher education and science—said that in 10 years’ time, people “will look back on this and recognise that Westminster and Whitehall were behind the curve” on environmental issues.
