UK government accused of being slow to act on lifelong learning

Labour criticises ministers for not responding to consultation

The shadow minister for higher education has criticised the government for failing to publish a response to a consultation on a bill for lifelong learning that has already had its second reading in the House of Commons.

The Lifelong Learning (Higher Education Fee Limits) Bill passed its second reading on 27 February and will now progress to committee stage. Labour shadow minister Matt Western called on ministers to publish their response to an associated consultation that was opened a year ago.
