
Universities and businesses want a slice of UK Shared Prosperity Fund to replace EU funding
Universities and businesses have asked the chancellor to ringfence £170 million of the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund for EU-funded university projects due to come to an end this year.
Over the years, universities across the UK have benefited from millions in investment through EU structural funding, including the European Regional Development Fund and the European Social Fund, which aim to foster growth and employment in regions where development is lagging.
