But government mulls options to restrict number of overseas students and dependants
There is little support for cutting the number of international students coming to the UK among the general public, despite suggestions that the government is looking to impose restrictions.
Nearly two-thirds (64 per cent) of those surveyed for a poll carried out by Public First for Universities UK said the UK should recruit the same number of international students or more, while just nine per cent felt that students and researchers should be dissuaded from coming to the UK.
