University consultation on LLE bill rejected by MPs

Labour amendments to the Lifelong Loan Entitlement bill have been voted down at committee stage

A set of amendments to the Lifelong Loan Entitlement that would force the government to consult with universities and colleges on funding details and set standards for the definition of a credit have been rejected by MPs.

Shadow higher education minister and Labour MP for Warwick and Leamington Matt Western called for amendments to the LLE bill during meetings of the House of Commons public bill committee on 23 March.
