OfS ‘not qualified’ to carry out regulatory duties, say universities

University Alliance group tells Lords that OfS remit has outgrown its areas of expertise

The Office for Students’ growing remit means England’s regulator does not have sufficient expertise to carry out its role effectively, a group of universities has said.

In its evidence to an ongoing House of Lords inquiry into the OfS, the University Alliance group said it was clear that the regulator was not up to speed on a range of activities it now oversees.
