Work on conditional indexation forms part of agreement between employers and University and College Union
Universities UK has asked employers in the Universities Superannuation Scheme for their views on its latest work to provide better stability in the pension scheme.
In an update on UUK’s work around conditional indexation—a system where some or all of the pension benefits earned by members in future would depend on the scheme’s funding position—the group said the approach “could play an important role in the future sustainability of the scheme beyond 2023”.
