Sutton Trust report calls on universities to better support talented disadvantaged students

Universities should make “more ambitious” use of contextual admissions to help address the Covid pandemic’s negative impact on social mobility, a charity has said.

In a report published on 29 June, the Sutton Trust said that the endemic lockdowns have taken a particular toll on attainment and social mobility, and urged higher education institutions to do more to identify academically able but socially disadvantaged applicants.
