Employers and union at odds over assessment boycott

   

Staff strike at more than 20 institutions but employers dismiss possibility of increased pay

The Universities and Colleges Employers Association has said there is “simply no need” for the University and College Union’s marking and assessment boycott, since employers are “at the table to negotiate”.

“The boycott has continued for more than seven weeks but it is clear that the vast majority of staff are not participating, and are delivering and caring for students at this vital time of the year,” Ucea said in a statement on 12 June.
