Reforming current system would give “month-on-month tax cut for graduates”

The Labour Party has promised to cut tuition fee repayments for graduates by making the existing system “fairer and more progressive”.

Writing in The Times newspaper on 2 June, Labour shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson (pictured) set out, if Labour wins the next general election, how the party would undo the government’s recent changes to the fee system, which see lower and middle-income earners paying back more and graduates repaying their loans for longer.
