OfS ‘referring universities to trading standards’

England’s regulator raises concern about institutions with “unfair” student terms and conditions

The Office for Students has referred universities to UK National Trading Standards over alleged violations of consumer-protection law, England’s regulator has confirmed.

In a briefing on student consumer protection, the OfS said that where an institution was suspected of not following such laws, it “may also decide to refer the case to…other enforcement bodies”.
