Gillian Keegan backs government plan to block taught master’s students from bringing dependants
Education secretary Gillian Keegan has denied that placing restrictions on which students can bring dependants to the UK will harm the country’s attractiveness overseas.
During education questions in the House of Commons on 12 June, Keegan (pictured) said that the government’s recent decision to block taught master’s students from bringing family members to the UK “strikes the right balance to ensure that we have a fair and robust migration policy, and maintain the UK’s place as a top destination for the best and brightest from around the world”.
