Regulator releases post-QAA information on how institutions’ applications will be assessed
Guidance for universities and colleges on how to get degree-awarding powers has been released by the Office for Students, after it took over assessment work from the Quality Assurance Agency.
England’s regulator set out in guidance published on 27 July how new institutions should apply for the power to award degrees and how they will be assessed. Responsibility for assessing such applications used to sit with the QAA, which would advise the OfS on the institution’s academic standards in its role as the Designated Quality Body for England.
