Employers criticise lack of response from unions, but UCU blasts “pre-conditions” of talks
The Universities and Colleges Employers Association has criticised the University and College Union for failing to respond to proposals for talks on higher education finances.
Ucea says it wrote to the UCU and other trade unions nearly three weeks ago, proposing talks related to the ongoing dispute over pay and conditions, to be facilitated by the arbitration service Acas. However, the UCU said it was unhappy with the terms that Ucea had set for the discussions.
