Progress towards a more equal distribution of R&D funding is slowing down

Back in the days when levelling up was a thing, the Office for National Statistics launched a set of statistics on regional research and development spending.

The ONS data were intended to serve as a baseline for the measurement of the UK government’s levelling-up mission on publicly funded R&D.
