Vote to retain contested fee won by fine margin, but campaigners seek last-ditch postal ballot

Staff at the University of Oxford have voted by a narrow margin to overturn the removal of its £75 graduate application fee, which was due to be scrapped from September.

Campaigners to remove the fee, who say it can deter talented students from applying to the elite university, have reacted with dismay but vowed to push for an additional postal vote on the matter.
