Unite and UCU are engaged in an industrial dispute over workplace culture

A row has broken out between two unions after the general secretary of the University and College Union appeared to announce in a video that there would be a review of staffing at the organisation before its staff were informed.

On 12 June, the Unite union cited the video, which featured UCU general secretary Jo Grady, as one of the reasons for escalating industrial action by staff employed by the UCU. Unite members employed by the UCU are set to take five days of strike action over the workplace culture at the UCU in the coming weeks and will also participate in other actions short of a strike.
