Institutions cannot weather storm alone, says London universities group

Solutions to the university crisis proposed by the leader of the last higher education funding review “oversimplify” the complex challenges institutions are facing, according to the umbrella group for London higher education.

Philip Augar, who chaired the 2019 review of post-18 education for the government, told the Financial Times that “UK universities must cut costs to survive”, in an interview with the Financial Times ahead of A-level results day this week.
