Low-income students ‘feel less supported at school’

Social Mobility Foundation polling of 3,500 young people spotlights barriers as exam results released

A poll ahead of results day for A-levels and other qualifications has found that less than half of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds felt they had adequate support at school to achieve their best.

The survey of 3,500 young people by the Social Mobility Foundation—released as students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland receive their post-secondary exam results—shows a “widening attainment gap” between high and low-income students.
