Scottish education results draw praise for university admissions but concern over school achievement

Scotland’s higher and further education minister Graeme Dey has celebrated a record number of Scottish students securing places at the country’s universities.

According to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (Ucas), 31,970 Scottish students of all ages secured university placements through results announced on 6 August, up 6 per cent from last year and 11 per cent since 2019.
