Sheffield Hallam blames job cuts on ‘external pressures’

University is facing four days of staff strike action next month

Sheffield Hallam University has become the latest institution to blame the financial state of UK higher education more broadly for job cuts.

The University and College Union announced on 9 August that staff at the Yorkshire university will take four days of industrial action in September over what it said was a “wholesale attack on staff and students through an unprecedented cuts programme”.
