Southampton to establish pioneering India campus

Russell Group university becomes first UK provider to gain government licence

The University of Southampton has announced plans to open a campus in India after being granted a licence by the nation’s government.

On 29 August, a statement from the Hampshire institution said it was the first UK university to receive approval for such a development, and that receipt of a licence from the University Grants Commission paved the way for planning to progress.
