Now on HE Sports, it’s time for the 2019 Higher Education Grand National.

Richard Anchorman: Welcome, once again, to the premier steeplechase in the university calendar. Not since Jo Johnson’s time at the Department for Education have we seen such hurdles placed before higher education. The going is bad to worse, with a forecast for deteriorating conditions later on. Let’s go over to Richard Eccentric for the runners and riders.

Richard Eccentric: Thank you Richard, the one that’s dominating everyone’s thinking at the moment is Brexit Uncertainty. This three-year-old really has some momentum now and few can see past it at the moment. This year there has also been a lot of interest in Lifelong Learning, a real favourite with the punters. In the 2017 running of this race, there was a lot of support behind Love for Corbyn but that’s faded in the last few weeks as Brexit Uncertainty has come to the fore.
