Horizon deal is great, now researchers need more

There was undoubted joy among UK researchers when they won back their membership of the Horizon Europe club this month.

After years of looking enviously at the projects colleagues on the continent were building together while Brussels and Westminster haggled—first over Northern Ireland trade and then over the terms of Horizon association—finally access to the wealth of grants available through the EU R&D scheme was secure.
