US pursues more collaboration with Vietnam
The US wants to increase science cooperation with Vietnam, according to US presidential science envoy Rita Colwell following a visit to Vietnam that ended on 10 February. Colwell, a former director of the US National Science Foundation, met with government officials as well as scientists, entrepreneurs and members of NGOs to discuss cooperation on climate change, public health, and science, engineering and mathematics education. The visit to Vietnam was Colwell’s third trip abroad since her appointment as a science envoy in July 2011. She has also visited Bangladesh and Malaysia.
