A constitutional amendment that Missouri voters passed earlier this month ensuring they have the right to pray without state interference has raised fears amongst science educators that it could limit the teaching of evolution, reports the Science Insider blog.
Under the “right to pray” amendment “no student shall be compelled to perform or participate in academic assignments or educational presentations that violate his or her religious beliefs”.
