States outshine federal government in whistleblower laws

Whistleblower laws at state level are steadily strengthening, according to an analysis released by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) on 9 August.

It found that, so far in 2012, five states have toughened whistleblower laws for public employees and contract workers. In the previous two years another 20 states enacted stronger whistleblower laws.
