Cybersecurity bill fails in Senate

Cybersecurity legislation that supporters say would have helped protect the country from potentially catastrophic cyber attacks was voted down in the Senate on 2 August.

It is unlikely that cybersecurity legislation will be voted on again before next year, though there is some speculation that an executive order to strengthen the nation’s defences against cyber attacks could be issued by the White House.
