Proposed 39 per cent cut to environment agency would “endanger public health”, say politicians

Democrat politicians have hit out at plans from Republican rivals to cut funding for the Environmental Protection Agency by nearly half, saying it would “endanger public health”.

The Republican appropriations bill for 2024 budgets of the Department of the Interior and environment agencies was passed in the House on 3 November, with the party saying it would cut “wasteful” spending.
