Committee passes bills to strengthen research partnerships

Legislation aims to increase Department of Energy’s collaboration with National Science Foundation and Nasa

The House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology has passed three bipartisan bills aimed at improving federal R&D, including by increasing partnerships between agencies.

HR 2980 is intended to strengthen the Department of Energy’s research partnerships with the National Science Foundation on topics such as physics, quantum information sciences and artificial intelligence, while HR 2988 should improve interagency coordination between the DOE and space agency Nasa.
