Lab analysis charts near releases of dangerous materials

There were 395 incidents in which dangerous materials known as “select agents” were potentially released at US government national laboratories between 2003 and 2009, according to a National Research Council (NRC) report.

However, the analysis found that only seven laboratory-acquired infections were reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in that period.
