NSF budget increases 2.5%, OSTP funding falls

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has received a funding increase of 2.5 per cent, or $173.2 million, for a total budget of $7 billion, under fiscal year (FY) 2012 appropriations approved by Congress on 17 November and signed into law by President Obama the following day.

In particular, the agency’s Research and Related Activities account will rise by nearly 3 per cent to more than $5.7bn.
