State Department science advisor named

The new science and technology advisor to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is E. William Colglazier, the recently retired executive officer of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Research Council.

In his new role, which became effective on 22 July, he will serve as an advocate for science-based policy at the State Department.
