NIH grants management under fire again

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has come under attack by The FAIR Foundation, a group advocating equitable distribution of biomedical research funds by the US government.

The foundation—whose 27-member Board of Directors includes surgeons, medical directors, dentists and patient advocates—echoes the socially conservative Christian group known as the Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) that recently called for Congress to freeze NIH’s funding for six months pending investigation of the agency’s ”wasteful” research funding practices.
