Oil firms to pool Arctic data with oceans agency

Three international energy companies have agreed to share ocean and weather data with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

In an agreement signed on 23 August, Shell Exploration and Production, ConocoPhillips and Statoil USA E&P agreed to share a number of scientific datasets for the Arctic region, the NOAA said.
