Hurricanes won’t blow grant applications off course

The National Institutes for Health has provided guidance for researchers and organisations whose submissions for grant applications were delayed by last week’s East coast earthquake or Hurricane Irene.

Applicants are instructed to include a cover letter explaining the application’s delay. NIH said asking for advance permission for such delays was not necessary but that applications must be submitted as soon as the applicant’s institution has reopened.
