A visiting scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stole grant funds from 2004 through February 2010, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General (OIG) alleged on 25 October.
Poul Thorsen “executed a scheme to steal grant money” awarded by CDC to government agencies in Denmark for research involving infant disabilities, autism, genetic disorders, and fetal alcohol syndrome, the OIG claimed. The office has placed him on its Most Wanted Fugitive list.
