Make it easier for scientists to volunteer, agencies urged

Federal agencies are being encouraged to make it easier for employees who work in science, technology, engineering and maths to volunteer their time and expertise in order to improve STEM education.

In a 14 August memo, the US Office of Personnel Management urged federal agencies to review the extent to which they were making such STEM-related volunteering possible and develop policies and procedures to help.
