More than a year and a half after the previous director resigned in frustration, the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) will have another leader.
The new director is Kathryn Partin, a neuroscientist who currently leads the research integrity and compliance review office at Colorado State University. She has held that job, which included research misconduct and compliance oversight, since 2007.
“She has an excellent reputation at Colorado,” says Adam Marcus, co-founder of the website Retraction Watch, which covers mistakes and misconduct in science. “She’s really smart and pretty fierce—in a good way,” he says.
