Nasa diversity efforts falling short, study finds

               

Report by National Academies recommends more actions that the space agency could take

Nasa should do more to increase the diversity of principal investigators for its science missions, a study by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine has found.

At the request of the space agency, a National Academies group examined efforts to increase diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (Deia) in Nasa’s Science Mission Directorate—its largest grant-issuing mission directorate, with a focus on developing transformative space technologies to enable future missions.
