Criticism from Ted Cruz comes as report confirms record-high temperatures
US space agency Nasa and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have been accused by a senator of fuelling “climate alarmism” and making an “irresponsible” contribution to climate-related anxiety among young people.
Ted Cruz, who is the Republican ranking member on the Senate commerce committee, wrote to the two agencies on 26 August, just days after Noaa reported that an international annual climate review found that 2023 brought new record highs for global land and ocean temperatures, as well as sea levels.
