US quantum R&D gets entangled policy and funding pushes

Federal agencies, departments and labs unveil a flurry of quantum centres, strategies and findings

US development of quantum technologies, which are based on the physics of sub-atomic particles, is to be bolstered on several fronts following the announcement of a series of funding and policy initiatives.

The National Science Foundation announced on 21 July that it is setting up three institutes to plug fundamental gaps in US quantum science and engineering.
