National Science Foundation among trio of agencies set to receive less funding than was authorised
Federal funding provisionally allocated to US research agencies for the 2024 financial year falls about $7.5 billion below the level authorised by the Chips and Science Act, according to an analysis by the Federation of American Scientists.
This follows a shortfall of nearly $3bn below authorised levels for research agencies this year, noted Matt Hourihan, the associate director of R&D and advanced industry at the FAS, a not-for-profit think tank.
