Juvenile justice needs firmer scientific foundation, says NRC

Legal responses to juvenile offenders need a better grounding in scientific knowledge about adolescent development, according to a National Research Council report.

The report, released on 13 November, recommends that the juvenile justice system should eliminate interventions that research has found to be ineffective or harmful.
