Controversial Harvard professor resigns

A well-known and embattled Harvard University psychology professor, Marc Hauser—who was found guilty of eight counts of scientific misconduct in August 2010—will resign as a faculty member, effective 1 August.

The misconduct ruling was given by an internal Harvard investigation which determined that some of the data in a monkey cognition paper did not support the reported finding. The article in question was retracted in 2002.
