Two US researchers among 2020 winners of Nobel prize in medicine

   

Prize split between three researchers for discovery of the Hepatitis C virus

Two researchers from the United States and one from the UK have won the 2020 Nobel prize for physiology or medicine for their discovery of the Hepatitis C virus.

The Nobel Assembly at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute named Harvey Alter, Charles Rice and Michael Houghton as the winners of the annual award on 5 October.
