Trump administration launches formal inquiry into racism at Princeton University

Universities in the United States have come under pressure from both academics and an adversarial White House to address concerns about systemic racism within their institutions and academia more broadly.

The Department of Education launched a formal inquiry into racism at Princeton University after the university’s president, Christopher Eisgruber, wrote a letter saying past racist assumptions “remain embedded in structures of the university itself”.
