Report proposes that universities adopt targeted recruitment, consider student adversity and offer needs-based aid

Higher education institutions should take a variety of steps to raise diversity among their students, according to a plan released by the Joe Biden administration.

Such steps should include investing in targeted recruitment and giving “meaningful consideration” in admissions procedures to the adversity students have faced, such as financial constraints, according to the plan released by the Department of Education on 28 September.
